The Artist
Nancy Miorelli is an entomologist (bug scientist) living in Quito Ecuador where she conducts her own personalized tours under the brand SCIBUGS of the Ecuadorian jungles focused on insects, ecology, conservation, and local culture.

She got her start in Tarot nearly 10 years ago when a friend suggested it might be a useful way for her to explore her feelings and understand her inner world. Since then, Nancy has been using tarot as a tool to ground herself, explain her feelings, and reflect inwards.

In her free time, Nancy likes to draw, explore nature, make costumes, and play DnD and video games.

The Deck
Here, you'll find 78 unique insects who's biology has been carefully researched, contemplated, and ultimately selected to represent each of the cards in Tarot.

While some pairings are obvious (ex. the Luna Moth representing The Moon), all the pairings dive into the nuanced symbolism of the card.

Ultimately, this is both a science communication project and a project to help people explore their behaviors, fears, successes, and thought patterns.

I hope that people who frequently use tarot find this deck and are awestruck by the insects and their stories represented in the cards. I hope that scientists and bug enthusiasts find it, learn some new tools for self discovery and find some journaling exersizes that resonate with them.

I hope that you find a little bit of yourself in these insects and their stories.
